Footprints in the Windsm # 2542

Indigenous and American attitudes

Persons indigenous to the Americas: We teach, we learn from and we seek peace and beauty and living with and among, all the living world.
Twenty-first century Americans: We analyze, pull apart, extract knowledge and energy from a dead and dying world.

Footprints in the Windsm # 2540–Dream of generations

Footprints in the Windsm # 2540

The “dream” (ideal) of the generations is compassionate, just, domination-free, social, communal, egalitarian. The dream (high peak at which we aim) of contemporary American culture is individualistic, wealthy, young, standing out, looking good, getting more wealthy, getting more cars, getting more houses (note: not homes), getting more stuff, getting more attention.

They reverence

Each has an interpretation of whatever presents to us. We have heard a tale of an ordinary young woman. It is a story of “magical realism.” But what do the people do with it over time, over generations, thro’ generations? They reverence. They learn. They teach. Whatever all they do, they remember.

Footprints in the Windsm # 2538–light & oxygen & flight & escape

Footprints in the Windsm # 2538

There is a season to Conversing & to Meeting & to Soul making
& then the universe, the cosmos, turns
Another bit & we do not recognize ourselves nor
Where we are, but even so
We are interior inferior hands of flesh & opening
Fingers allowing light & oxygen & flight &
Escape!

oatmeal, chop suey

Brain is noun, thing; mind is verb, action. Your brain on Alzheimer’s is oatmeal, chop suey, tangled spaghetti; even then your mind stirs, heats, twirls.
